This week I have worked on completing the transition between the room and the canyon landscape.
To achieve this transition I simply took a screenshot of the character from Maya and imported it into Photoshop. I then used the eyedropper tool to copy the colours from Maya onto the character in Photoshop. Above I have attached a video of the transition and I'm pleased with how it looks at this point.
This week I have also continued animating past the transition point where the fly begins to lead the protagonist through the canyon. For the time being the background is a block colour, however in postproduction I will then add the rendered backgrounds of the canyons in Maya. My plan is to complete the canyon scenes by the end of next week and to move onto animating the forest, which is next environment the boy arrives in.
